This show was recorded and is now available on the Live Music Archive for you to either stream or download (or both - get crazy!!). CLICK HERE to do so and ENJOY this great SBD recording.
Halloween Extravaganza Part II
In what has become an annual tradition SCC took the stage this past Saturday at Mexicali Blues for their second annual Halloween Extravaganza. The guys invited along fellow NJ-friends Jounce to open up the night. SCC used the fact that Mexicali was open till 4am to bring the house down and keep the crowd on their feet. The first set saw the band play a long set of originals which left the crowd wanting more and more they got! In between sets the band held their annual costume contest which saw Richard Simmons walk away with the prize package. Set two saw the band don a musical costume and debut tunes from Beck (Where It's At), Ray Lamontagne (Three More Days), Tom Petty (Last Dance with Mary Jane), The Band (Shape I'm In) and Wilco (Handshake Drugs) among others. Handshake saw the band play a set of musical chairs switching instruments with each other and showcasing a new dynamic for their talents. Mike took over Piano duties for Ed who become the front man of the band on lead vocals and Acoustic Guitar, while Gerard got behind the drums, Joe played lead guitar and Nick played bass. It was a site to be seen and just added to the magic of the night. Unfortunately there is no recording of this show which will just add to the mystique of the night and make you realize you should never miss an SCC Halloween show. Bwahahaha.
